Cast Iron Skillet Pizza

  • Pizza Dough
  • 2 cups Einkorn Wheat Flour - high extraction
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • -
  • Pizza
  • Tomato sauce
  • Italian sausage
  • Pepperoni
  • Mozzarella cheese


  • in a large bowl or using a standing mixer, combine all of the ingredients for the dough together and knead for a few minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • let the dough rise for an hour or two and then place into the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap, until one hour before you want to bake the pizza
  • about one half hour before baking the pizza, preheat the oven 450 degrees
  • press the dough out across the bottom of the cast iron skillet
  • layer on your pizza ingredients as you see fit
  • place your cast iron pan on the stove, over high heat, for three or four minutes to help get the bottom of the crust off to a good start
  • place into the pre-heated oven for about 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and browned to your satisfaction
