Definitely one of my favorite pieces to make in the studio, drinking glasses are a great gift idea for friends and family alike, because we know that everything tastes better when drinking from a hand made cup!
Twisty Cane Glasses
Each twisty cane glass is made up of approximately 12-18 pieces of colored cane that I made ahead of time, usually in a previous studio session, but in a pinch it is possible to pull cane in the morning and use it later that day. The canes are fused together and then rolled up on a blow pipe and blown out into the final form.
Because each drinking glass uses the majority of one good cane pull, it is certainly possible to request color combinations that appeal to you, as I will have to pull cane anyway. I tend to lean towards blues and purples, but should be able to handle most requests within reason.
These twisty cane cups are a favorite of many customers who love them in their own homes, but more often than not, who love to give them away as special gifts for that hard-to-buy-for person that we all have in our lives.
In fact, these cups are so popular that it can sometimes be difficult to keep this page up to date. At the very worst, the pictures above should be able to give you an idea of what you can expect if/when you decide to order a few.
Please keep in mind that each color combination of cane needs to be hand made, and then used to make each cup, which is also hand made without the use of a mold. All of which is to say that there will be variations and differences between each cup, so if you are looking for exact matches and identical sets, these/I may not be the best choice for you.
All prices include shipping and handling and can be paid through Venmo, a minimum order of $100 total. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery for custom orders. Because of the nature of glass, how it melts and the fact that these are all hand-made, there is always the possibility of a few small bubbles or imperfections in my work.
Send me an email through my Contact Page if you are interested in placing an order or just have a question about my work.
