The Glenview Area is known as one of the most affluent areas in all of Kentucky, and is even ranked as one of the top 100 wealthiest locations in the entire country. As such, the houses are truly something to be seen.
The area is named after a horse farm that was on this land in the mid to late 1800′s, named Glen View, then later changed to Glenview Stock Farm. Much like Anchorage, Mockingbird Valley and Indian Hills, this area was used as a summer retreat for Louisville’s best known and wealthiest families, such as the Binghams and the Belknaps.
In the early 1980′s, Louisville tried to take this community over by annexation, which led the local residents to protest, after which they formed their own 6th Class City to protect themselves from any future attempts.
